How To Never Get Bored at Work
Let’s be honest here.
You’ve just finished most of your work in under 4 hours and you have another 4 hours to kill doing something monotonous
(or pretending to do some work).
You’ve already scrolled through TikTok.
You’ve already shared memes on Facebook.
You’ve already liked your neighbor’s cute cat pictures on Instagram.
What else is there to do?
Try Something Different
It may be asking a coworker for a unique Spotify playlist recommendation.
Try catching up on a podcast that you were once interested in.
Maybe finally listening to that artist that your friend is crazy about.
The key here is having new experiences.
New experiences can give us insights that we have never considered before and that stimulates our minds off boredom.
Break Out of Your Comfort Zone
It may not be a bad idea to break out of your comfort zone at work.
Try being more productive.
Do more.
Go for the extra mile.
You don’t really need to go all out all at once.
You just need slow but steady consistent efforts to go with it.
You’ll be shocked at how you’ll improve and grow at work if you continue with this mindset.
And who knows, you might just get raise while doing so.
Don’t Be Too Professional
Have you ever talked to someone at work that sounds like the 6 PM NEWS?
Someone who never talks about anything other than work.
Or are YOU that type of person?
Being too professional can drain your energy and the one that you’re talking to.
All your conversations would seem ungenuine.
Try taking some risks and opening up to your coworkers if you’re that type of person.
I’m not saying that you share details of your whole family history…
Rather, just start by striking a conversation where it involves you sharing your favorite TV show while growing up.
Everyone has one and most people can relate to that.
The key here is to start engaging with something small and who knows, you might create opportunities for long-term
friendships you might just build a friendlier work environment.
Move On With Your Career
Every now and then work gets boring and that’s normal…
But if you’re bored every day it might just be the time to do something else.
You might have been feeling bored for the past couple of months because you are really interested in trying out something
in a completely different field but you’re too scared to take the leap of faith.
Look, this advice might not be applicable to you and I’m not here to give out random advice to people that I don’t know
But…
If you’re really bored out of your mind for too long then it might just be the right move to move on.
It’s your life anyways and you owe it to yourself to live it the best way that you can and spending most of your time in a
job that isn’t fulfilling and meaningful for you isn’t the best way to live life.
