"Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one."

Image
The great philosopher and Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius once said, "Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one." These words hold true even today, centuries later, and can serve as a powerful motivator for anyone seeking to live a life of purpose and meaning. Too often, we get bogged down in debates about the nature of morality and ethics, arguing over the finer points of what it means to be a "good person." We analyze and theorize, but we fail to put these ideas into action. We forget that true goodness is not a matter of words, but of deeds. This is where Marcus Aurelius's words come in. Instead of wasting our time arguing about what it means to be a good person, we should focus on becoming one. We should strive to embody the virtues and values that we hold dear, and live our lives in a way that reflects these principles. Of course, this is easier said than done. It takes hard work, dedication, and a willingness to make mistakes and l...

Broke but Not Broken: How Having Less Money Can Be Good for You

Image
As the saying goes, "money can't buy happiness." But did you know that having less money can actually be good for you? It's true! Here are some reasons why: You're more motivated. When you're strapped for cash, you're more likely to hustle and work harder to make ends meet. You might take on a side gig or start a passion project to supplement your income. This kind of motivation can lead to greater success in the long run, as you develop a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed. You become a lot sharper. When you have limited funds, you have to be more strategic about how you spend your money. You'll be more mindful of your expenses and may even start to track your spending. This level of mental focus can carry over into other areas of your life, helping you become more disciplined and efficient. You're less distracted. When you have less money, you have fewer things to worry about. You're not constantly bombarded with ads for the latest ga...

Why You Need Plastic Surgery To Have A Billion-Dollar Business

Image
Let me start by saying that I haven’t watched an episode of the Kardashian’s numerous fake reality shows. I’m just here to state the fact that Kylie Jenner is probably one of the most brilliant entrepreneurs of our time. And here’s why… In today’s world, most successful businesses have realized that the name of the game is attention and retention . First, you capture the interest of the consumers through attention and then retain it through branding . Branding is where the big money i s at. Think of brands like Samsung, Yamaha, and Sony. These brands can sell you a variety of different products from appliances, phones to motorcycles, and nobody questions the quality or performance of their products. That’s because they have built a strong brand through longevity . These are companies that were built generations before I was born. Now, how do you build a strong brand without waiting for your hair to be all grey? These reality stars, YouTubers, vloggers; have accidentally created a shor...

Why It's Important to Be Yourself

Image
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson Pic: OGesports - n0tail These days, all I see are people trying to be someone else.  There are a lot of reasons why they do this. Not all are bad, in fact, some reasons are even born from being unselfish, altruistic, and can be a form of self-improvement.  However, most people act like somebody they are not to impress others.  Their actions are not congruent with the way that they think. The values that they have aren’t aligned with how they behave.  This puts you in a constant state of DOUBT . Unfree from judgment, not necessarily from others, but most definitely from yourself. This type of mindset is causing people to have depression, low-self esteem, a general sense of always being unsatisfied . In the past, I did feel like being somebody else. It made my life bearable . Becoming somebody that people would agree with gave me an eas...

How To Never Get Bored at Work

Image
Let’s be honest here. You’ve just finished most of your work in under 4 hours and you have another 4 hours to kill doing something monotonous (or pretending to do some work). You’ve already scrolled through TikTok. You’ve already shared memes on Facebook. You’ve already liked your neighbor’s cute cat pictures on Instagram. What else is there to do? Try Something Different It may be asking a coworker for a unique Spotify playlist recommendation. Try catching up on a podcast that you were once interested in. Maybe finally listening to that artist that your friend is crazy about. The key here is having new experiences. New experiences can give us insights that we have never considered before and that stimulates our minds off boredom. Break Out of Your Comfort Zone It may not be a bad idea to break out of your comfort zone at work. Try being more productive. Do more. Go for the extra mile. You don’t really need to go all out all at once. You just need slow but steady consistent efforts to ...

How To Easily Come Up With Ideas

Image
Steven Pressfield As a writer, it’s almost guaranteed to have days where you just run out of ideas. Luckily, these types of days just turn into minutes if you apply the process that I’ll be sharing with you today. These processes are the combination of things that I’ve researched and as well as methods that I have naturally discovered by myself to be effective. Let’s begin by just sitting down. As Steven Pressfield would say “When we sit down to work, we become like a magnetized rod that attracts iron filings. Ideas come. Insights accrete.” I believe that the most brilliant ideas were created with the simple act of putting yourself on a chair. How does this work?  Momentum is key to everything. The act of sitting down and writing starts your writing momentum that carries your subconscious mind to eventually produce ideas. It may sometimes first produce bad ideas but eventually , you’ll come up with better ideas if you just stick with it and continue to move your fingers. .... One ...

"You're capable of more"

Image
"You're capable of more" This quote is from one of my favorite real-life savages, David Goggins. When I was a teenager, I grew up listening to older guys in my family talk about their nature trips. I’ve seen photos of them climbing mountains, setting campsites, swimming in lakes, and cutting through jungles. Last weekend was my first time climbing a mountain. I wasn’t really planning to do so since my lifestyle is basically the opposite of one who enjoys these kinds of things. My girlfriend was the one who actually invited me and told me that we were going with some ex-coworkers of ours. I was looking forward to it. The guides for the trip were friendly and helpful. After getting oriented about the details of the mountain that we were about to climb, we started to hike through the neighborhood that connects through the actual trail. We hiked for 4 hours before we reached our first stop to grab some lunch. The first 4 hours I believed were challenging but doable . The ne...
